A Trip to China

Last year after yet another holiday in the South of Spain, I really got quite depressed. I had spent a fortune staying in a fancy hotel, and although I had a nice time, I realised on the way ho,e, that apart from the weather, I might as well have been in England! Everyone spoke English, most of the food was English, and the whole place had been designed purely for the English market. Of course this makes for a very easy holiday, but it wasn't exactly an enriching experience for the soul. It used to be the case that people travelled abroad in order to expand their horizons but we have become a country whose chief aim is to get as drunk as possible and behave exactly as we do at home. Because there is money in it other countries pander to this and what you end p with is a nice part of Spain turning into a not so nice part of England.

I'd had enough of this, and this year I was determined to go somewhere that would mean something to me. I wanted a totally different culture. I started to have a look online for some decent priced flights to some slightly more far flung corners of the globe. After a short time I came across some surprisingly cheap China flights. I had never even considered going to China before, but now I thought about it, I didn't think I could possibly go anywhere that was less British!

I decided to go for it, and I booked myself a holiday there without a second thought. I wanted to get out of the rut of going to the same places and doing the same things, and this would achieve both of these things in one fell swoop!
